Dinner with Wong Ah Soo

A group of good friends met up with Wong Ah Soo at the La La Chong Restaurant in Sg. Ara Damansara tonight. Those present besides our guest of honour were Toh Chee Kiang, Tan Lee Kiang, Yeoh Gim Ooi, Chan Yau Kok, Bernard Yeoh and Heng.

For many of us,the last time we saw Ah Soo was at the Convocation in 1975.

Ah Soo migrated to Perth in his forties and has been in Perth for the past 22 years. He was working at  Murdoch University until his retirement recently.

We had a great time discussing about life in Australia and the dinner session as usual turned out to be a nostalgic trip down memory lane.We had a great time bonding with the hope that perhaps we should all go to Perth since so many of us had good friends there.

It has been years.....

Think of all those good times!

Love a lot, Live a lot!

Happy Memories to Treasure

I conveyed to Ah Soo, the best wishes from many of our friends who could not make it for the dinner meet. Those who sent best wishes were Chia Kwang Chye who was in Hong-Kong and Tan Kooi Meng who was also someowhere overseas.Lay Chooi,Jenny,Patrick, Saik Tat,Say Chuan,Manlin and Catherine also sent their greetings.

One interesting greeting came from overseas. Phaik Ooi said "Hi" saying he remembered Ah Soo very well as he was staying in married quarters besides where she stayed at campus!

Pensioners' Glee

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting. Well, for example, the other day Jenny and I went into town and went into a shop. We were only in there for about 5 minutes. When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.

We went up to him and I said, 'Come on man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?' He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. I called him a Dumb ass. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires.

So Jen called him a shit head. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote.

Just then our bus arrived and we got on it and went home.. We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired. It's important at our age

Just in Jest

Archaeologists have found a rare fossil somewhere but would not disclosed its location. Apparently, it was in one of the South-east Asian nations. They were in agreement, however,  it was likely the fossil bones of a politician!
